In a surprising crossover event that challenges traditional expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Revealed

According to the official release, "An unusual encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine cult.

The questline centers on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Changes

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Bonus Content

Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Content

This update also introduces the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
